Symptom: VPN Clients using certificates are able to successfully connect, authenticate, and pass traffic. But upon reconnecting, clients receive errors. They are unable to connect until the client is shut down and restarted.

If you attempt to use the VPN client to access an ITS Wireless location and receive this error, Reason 429: Unable to resolve server address, your laptop is unable to resolve mobility.up.psu.edu to its IP address. Workaround: You can create an ITS Wireless connection that uses the direct IP address for mobility.up.psu.edu. Open the VPN client

Steps to Fix the Problem. 1, Launch registry editor, from run box ( press Windows Key + R Key on keyboard to launch run box ) in run type regedit to launch registry editor. 2, Navigate to this key in regitry editor HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM Secure VPN connection terminated locally by the client. Reason 440: driver failure. I do recall this happened when I upgrade to windows 8.1, and I did the same registry change, unfortunately it does not work. Among all computers I have installed Cisco VPN Client, my Windows 7 is the only one that had the problem connecting to the remote VPN server.
